It might be ‘our ordinary Saturday’. But it’s ‘Your forever memories’.
It might not feel extraordinary.
It’s just the skate park. Just the weekly supermarket dash. Just a boot full of scooters and sticky ice cream covered hands.
But this — this is your family’s rhythm.
The way they race ahead of you down the pavement.
The way you reach for their hood without thinking.
The snacks, the silliness, the inevitable tired tears.
An 8 hour session, may sound daunting but I promise you it’s not. It flys by and most importantly it affords me the chance to truly capture your families uniqueness. After a while you will forget I even have a camera with me. I’m just a friend hanging out, grabbing lunch, joining in kitchen party and running errands.
A Day in the Life Session is about documenting a typical day — the real one. The one filled with your family’s favourite things. The places you always go. The rituals you don’t even realise are traditions yet.
I simply hang out with you.
No big performance.
No pressure to entertain.
No expectation for everything to be perfect.
Whether it’s trips to the skate park, wandering supermarket aisles with a child steering the trolley, stopping for ice creams, kicking a ball at the park, baking at home or piling onto the sofa for a film — I quietly capture the fun that unfolds around me.
The in-between glances.
The muddy knees.
The way your hands always find theirs in a crowd.
Because one day the skate park will be replaced with something else.
The trolley will be pushed without you.
And you’ll wish you could step back into one of these beautifully normal days.
This is about preserving your family exactly as you are — right now.
Before it changes.
I’ve meant to do this for so long and I’m so glad we did. The session did not disappoint. It was so relaxed. Fi really captured our personalities. I will forever love these photo’s.
